My time & attention are limited so I want things to be straightforward.
All the best things in life are more involved & complicated than they first appear – this is what holds my interest in them.
I want to instantly have a good sense of what’s in front of me, but I don’t mind if I don’t know everything.
In a complex world simplicity can be refreshing. But it can also seem naïve and false.
It’s nice to know that there’s more depth to discover should I wish too. But this can also make me feel like I’m missing out.
I often just want to know that someone else has considered all the complexity so that I don’t have to worry about it.
If we engage in both low-involvement and high-involvement processing, surely both are important?
I want both simplicity & complexity, often at the same time.
